Who we are
Imagine Calculator (www.imaginecalculator.com) is run by Sean D. If you have a question about this policy or your data, email hello@imaginecalculator.com.
What we collect
- Nothing you type into a calculator. The math runs in your browser. If you share a result, the numbers are in the link you share, not stored by us.
- Usage data, through Google Analytics. Which pages you visit, how you got here, your device and browser type, and your rough location (country or city, worked out from your IP address). We use it to see which pages help people and which don’t. Read how Google uses data when you use our partners’ sites.
- Server logs. Our host, Vercel, records basic request data such as IP address, browser and the page requested, to deliver the site and protect it from abuse.
- Emails you send us. If you write to us, we keep your message and address to reply.
- Small settings in your browser. Your light or dark theme choice, and your privacy choice below, are saved in your browser’s local storage. They never leave your device.
We don’t have accounts, we don’t sell lists, and we never ask for your financial details.
Cookies and similar technology
Google Analytics uses cookies (such as _ga) to tell one visit from another. Advertising partners use cookies and similar identifiers to show ads, limit how often you see the same one, and measure results. You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings; the calculators still work without them.
Advertising
We may show ads to keep the site free. Ads are served by third-party vendors, including Google. These third parties may place and read cookies on your browser, or use web beacons or IP addresses, to collect information as a result of serving ads on this site.
- Third-party vendors, including Google, use cookies to serve ads based on your prior visits to this website or other websites.
- Google’s use of advertising cookies enables it and its partners to serve ads to you based on your visits to this site and/or other sites on the Internet.
- You can opt out of personalized advertising from Google in Google’s Ads Settings. You can opt out of personalized ads from many other vendors at aboutads.info (US) or youronlinechoices.eu (Europe).
- Read how Google uses information from sites that use its services.
Visitors in the EU, UK and Switzerland
If you visit from the European Economic Area, the UK or Switzerland, analytics and advertising cookies are off until you agree to them. When ads are running, you’ll see a consent message from a Google-certified consent tool that lists every company involved and keeps a record of your choice. You can change your answer at any time from the “Privacy choices” link in the footer.
Under the GDPR and UK GDPR, our legal basis is your consent for analytics and advertising cookies, and our legitimate interest in running a secure website for server logs. You have the right to access, correct or delete your data, to object to or restrict how we use it, to withdraw consent, and to complain to your local data protection authority. Email us to use any of these rights.
Visitors in US states with privacy laws
We don’t sell personal information for money. Some state laws, including California’s, treat sharing data with ad partners for targeted ads as a “sale” or “sharing.” You can opt out with the “Privacy choices” control below. If your browser sends a Global Privacy Control signal, we treat it as an opt-out of personalized ads automatically. Browsers’ older “Do Not Track” setting has no common standard, so the site doesn’t change what it does when it receives one; use Global Privacy Control or the choices below instead. Google, and our ad partners once ads are running, may collect information about your activity over time and across different websites.
Your privacy choices
Checking your setting…
This choice is saved in this browser only. Clearing your browser data resets it.
Who else sees data
- Google (Analytics and ads). See Google’s privacy policy. You can also install the Google Analytics opt-out add-on.
- CoinGecko (live crypto prices). On the crypto calculators, your browser fetches current prices straight from CoinGecko, so CoinGecko sees your IP address and browser details, as any website you load does. See CoinGecko’s privacy policy.
- Vercel (hosting). See Vercel’s privacy policy.
- Ad partners, once ads are running, as described above.
These companies are mostly in the United States, so your data may be processed there. We’ll also share data if the law requires it.
How long we keep it
Google Analytics keeps event data for the retention period set in our account, then deletes it. Emails are kept as long as we need them to answer you. Server logs are kept by Vercel for a short period under its own policy.
Embedded calculator
Other websites can embed our calculator. When they do, the embedded calculator follows this policy, and the site you’re on follows its own.
Children
This site isn’t aimed at children under 13, and we don’t knowingly collect their information. If you think a child has sent us personal information, email us and we’ll delete it.
Changes
If we change this policy, we’ll update the date at the top. Big changes will be noted on this page. See also our Terms of Use and Disclaimer.
